1943-1
( comments) Next 4 "Summer 1943 Washington: " This photo "Buddy & Slivia - engaged" Stamped "979" Marver Bernstein and Sheva. Marver is a cousin of Shirley. Assume July 1943.
1943-2
( comments) "Mother Meyers & Velvet" stamped "889" Lena Meyers and Shirley assume July 1943.
1943-3
( comments) "Ina and Mother" stamped "889" Ina and Lena. Same day as previous photo, July 1943.
1943-4
( comments) "Ina in Washington Sum 1943" Stamped "889" Same Day as previous Meyer female photos. Assume July 1943.
1943-5
( comments) "The Meyers females: Mother, Tilly, Shirl, Rene & Ina" Stamped "903" Lena, Tilly is Sylvester's wife and Rene is Tilly's daughter. Taken same day as previous 3 photos. Assume July 1943
1943-6
( comments) "In Richard's apt in 70s 1943" Stamped "69H" I think 70s refers to 70th streets in Manhatten. No info on female. However there is a Nov 1946 photo of Ida (Richard's second wife and I am pretty sure this is Ida Szereszewski.
1943-7
( comments) "The next 4 photos "Rock Creek Park - Summer 1943" No processing stamp pn any. Rock Creek Park is in Washington DC. This photo "it's an old story by now -" George and Shirley. Assume Aug 1943.
1943-8
( comments) Shirley and George. Assume Aug 1943
1943-9
( comments) George and Shirley. Assume Aug 1943
1943-10
( comments) "Still Rock Creek - with Toby & Bobby. Bobby Beaumel and George are law school buddies. Left to right: George, Shirley, Toby and Bobby. Assume Aug 1943.
1943-11
( comments) "Harold at Camp Wheeler (actually snapped in Macon)" Written on back "43" stamped "36H" Harold Meyers in Macon Georgia. I believe Camp Wheeler was used for basic training. There is a virtually identical photo of Allen Ljung from Jan 1, 1943 in front of same fountain. George dates this summer 1943 which jibes with the leaves on the shrub. Assume Aug 1943.
1943-12
( comments) The next 2 photos "Central Park Summer 1943" But on the back of both "Fall 43" This photo "Harold" has stamp "21" Clearly from the lack of leaves this is late fall. I guess late Oct 1943. My guess is that Harold is home on leave after basic training. Assuming that he was shipped out later that year and if he was in Italy, he might have seen action at Anzio (Jan 1944 to June 1944). If so, that was a rough introduction to war as the US army was holed up on a beach surrounded by Germans.
1943-13
( comments) "Ina and Harold" Assume same late Oct day as previous photo. I think this is second photo of Ina and Harold. Strangly it has a different stamp "341" So differnt roll of film. Assume late Oct 1943
1943-14
( comments) The next 2 photos "New London 1943" This photo ""Aunt" Hattie Saltz (a real person) and Velvet Winter '43- 44" Stamped "605F" I have no idea who Hattie is. Assume Nov 1943.
1943-15
( comments) "Hattie" and on back "Spring '42" However, there is a processing stamp "This is a Kodacolor Print made by Eastman Kodak Company Sept 11 1943" So it could be spring '42, but more likely 1943. Keep it with the other photo of Hattie (Nov 1943) Possibly a "Christmas" photo sent to them by Hattie.
1943-16
( comments) "George in U.S.C.G.A." U.S. Coast Guard Academy probably. No date info other than in with 1943 photos. Assume late 1943.
1943-17
( comments) No info. But probably same day as previous photo. Assume late 1943 although Shirley has a summer dress on?
1943-18
( comments) "Ensign Springarm 1943" Must be friend. Put in Dec 1943 as Christmas photo sent to them.
1943-19
( comments) "Shirley 1943"
