Cover of ZS2. The album is labeled VPD Spel-Binder PG-11 by Joshua Meier Co New York 1, NY. There is a 9-58 on an included order sheet that may indicate Sept 1958.

Typical page of ZS2. Each sheet has a transparent plastic cover over the photos. Photos are attached to a typical black photo album sheet inside plastic. Attached using double sided tape that amazingly is still sticky. Taking the photos out usually rips out some of the black paper. After the first few photos I stopped taking the photos off the black paper. I removed the black sheet from the plastic cover, looked underneth for anything on the back (mostly nothing). Thus I stopped damaging the black paper. I believe the labeling on the black is by George Szabad even though the photos are from Shirley's family. In other words, I think George put this album together from individual photos Shirley had.

Part of a test. This is a color scan of the same photo in ZS2 001. Both scans have same sharpness. However this color scan preserves the antique look of the photo and so I will scan this album in color as most of the photos have an antique tint. George labeled "Sidney Grandfather of Shirley Sam Meyer Lena Dave Jake Grandma Henry" Thus we have the Hillel and Sarah Bernstein family with 7 of their 9 children. Missing are Rachael and Annie. They were married in 1887 and 1893. The photographer is: Shepherd, M. J.
Locations:
Address: 27 East Seventh, Saint Paul, Minnesota
Decades Worked in Minnesota: 1880s; 1890s
Looking at ages of the younger boys I believe this was 1895.

Also part of test. This is probably a later photo of the photo ZS2 003. However it is not as sharp.

This is the back of ZS2 003. Note that unfortunately the tape rips off chunks of the black album sheets. Also note that someone different from George had labeled photo on back. Could have been Shirley or one of her brothers? But unfortunately the tape goes right over the label in this case. 1895
