( comments) One of the entrances into neutrino beam line. Beam line in tunnel under big berm in right background. Don spent much of his time getting the extracted beam down this line to 30" bubble chamber at end.

( comments) The beam line magnets are not fully hooked up. I believer we are looking upstream towards main ring. The red quadrapole magnets on left are part of neutrino line and the blue dipole magnet on right is pat of the meson beam angling off to the west.

( comments) After 5 months of work, on the early morning of June 28, Russ Huson, myself and others finally got a clean 200 Gev proton beam to the 30 " bubble chamber (first time any NAL beam to the BC) Russ turned on the BC and took photos. Got maybe 2000. I immediately set up scan rules and later that day FAF scanners were looking. They found events like this! I wrote a short paper on it, but Wilson (head of NAL) said we could not publish as we were not part of the pp experiment! I still have the handwritten draft of the first experimental results out of NAL!

( comments) First Szabad family Christmas trip to Grenada! From home movie records we know the trip started in Alexandria on Monday Dec 25 and ended Jan 2, 1973 when we flew back to Madison. The photos in the album were not chronologically arranged. I tried with the movie records to put them more or less in order. This photo is probably Wed Dec 27 when we went shopping in St George's. Looks like we just all bought straw hats and a straw bag in "The Straw Mart".
