"Apr. '69" Mom wrote onback "April, 69" Only other small photo. Allen shoveling off shed that contains old Model T tractor. This photo taken by yet another camera. It is strange because Dad is shoveling lots of snow off shed (sort of indicating after a big blizzard which supposedly stopped in Feb. However, the '49 Ford has less snow on it than other blizzard photos. Despite the April 1969 date put on by both Dad and Mom I am going to assume this is like January 1969. Clearly there has been a major blizzard. We know that Feb had more major blizzards and so the next photo showing the shed and '49 Ford completely covered is after yet another blizzard! Thus Jan '69.

No info. However, the winter of 68 -69 was record breaking in the Midwest. One report that covered the entire area gives dates for 8 separate blizzards. The dates are Dec 10, 1968, Jan 5, 1969, Jan 7, Jan 14, Jan 26, Feb 14, Feb 19, Feb 25. Most, but maybe not all hit Alexandria. I believe that most of the heavy snow photos were taken in Feb and have dated them that way, although some of the early ones could easily have been in Jan. Assume this is early Feb 1969.

" '49 Ford buried in snow with rabbit enterance by front fender" Hard to sequence this photo. Note that the '49 is slightly uncovered and that the top of the shed has had the snow shoveled off. This places it about March 1969 after the last blizzard. Go with March 1969 for this photo.

"Power Dam at Pierre S.D." Start of trip photos. My guess is this is Mom and Dad's "annual" early Septembr vacation over Labor Day and their anniversary. In fact, there is a later photo (processed in Oct) from Dalton MN. That was likely Sept 6 or 7 that year. Hence it is likely that they left on this trip Labor Day weekend (Labor Day was Mon Sept 1, 1969) and returned to Alex later that week. Then heading up to Dalton that weekend. So this first photo of trip is about Aug 31, 1969.
