Dad wrote on back of identical print (ZL4 337 now tossed) "First furlough Spring 1943" Irene and Allen Mother's Day (from another photo) May 9, 1943. She would be 7 months pregnant with Don. Interestingly, on a dup of this photo, Mom wrote "Allen, Irene & Donnie" (Clearly written after I was born as they didn't know sex of baby) I don't recognize car (probably Albin's) |
