"643 E Brown Sep 7 1939" Mom wrote on back "On the boat coming home from Catalina" and she labeled it "Homeward Bound" This is one of my favorite photos of Mom. It is the last photo taken by them on the trip and Mom is headed home. It appears there are no further photos of trip. Apparently Mom and Pearl just hightailed it for home. Did they drive home via Route 66 (LA to Chicago)? Or did Mom leave Pearl and take a train home? On the back of my copy of this photo in a frame I wrote (train trip with Pearl) So at one time I thought a train was involved.?? July 1939.
