Dad labeled "5th Grade Maude Ekdahl Spring 1930" See ZL4 271 for ID's. Front row from left, second girl is Margaret Johnson, seventh girl on step is Helen Johnson. Row of boys has Allen third from left and Bryon Ljung sixth - at end scratching head. Third row of girls (5 steps up) Actually note the tall girl at end in dark dress is placed in row 4 by Dad. Thus count starting with shorter girl in light dress. Dad identifies her as Mildred Johnson. The girl next to her (second) is Irene Brundell, Then Anna Johnson is next (third with some dark hair in front of her face) Two girls down (fifth looking sort of away from camera) is Agnus Johnson. 8th at end is Myrtle Erickson who I believe was a friend of Irene's. The teacher is woman above Anna, and Edythe Erickson is girl above Agnus. Spring 1930.

ID's for 1930 school photo. Dad also had two different handwritten lists. Florence Erickson is called Florence Johnson in one. More importantly for us, Lorraine Johnson is labeled Margaret Johnson in one (I wrote in Margaret over Lorraine). I believe it is Margaret. Carl is missing (home sick?) Spring 1930

On back Dad wrote "Gust Sherlin Daughter" Gust Sherlin is brother of Ida and he had 5 daughters. Looks like wedding of one of the daughters. Assume 1930

Dad has written on back "Joel Engnell, Inga - his wife" Joel is the youngest son of Olaf Engell and Margareta Jonsdotter (sister of Erick and John Ljung). He was born in 1895. Note two photos in upper left. Top one looks like Joel's grandparents Jonas and Chistina Persson. Bottom one is the 1894 photo of The Jonas Persson family. Guess 1930. From Erick Ljung Album.

On back someone has written in Swedish "Riet o Astrid" or somesuch! These are the same children and same day as in ZL7 039. Hence Joel Engnell children. Guess 1930.

Dad and I drove around Alexandria July 5, 2010 to photograph places with family history. Eric Ljung's house at 301 E 8th Ave. The side addition was added after he lived there. 1930 census has Eric here
