Album: 1920 Al Ljung Album

     Album:Family/Historical photos.:Gramps Allen:1920 Decade:1920 Al Ljung Album
1920-1
( comments) Dad labeled "Grandpa John Ljung and Allen" Assume spring 1920
1920-2
( comments) Dad labeled ""Sturdy" Al" Assume spring 1920
1920-3
( comments) Dad labeled ""Sturdy" Al" Assume spring 1920
1920-4
( comments) In someone's handwriting that looks like Mom's but is Alice's "On the Severson place in the spring of 1920 - Maybe it was on your 3rd birthday Irene - Cousin Lester (Olson) center Frances H right" Assume April 11, 1920 Irene on left. Lester's father August is a brother to Irene's mother Emma. It is interesting that Alice mentions this is the Severson place. I assume it is the Fritz Severson place. If so, Irene is at her future husband's Great Grandfather's house!
1920-5
( comments) No info. But again this is from Hanson album, so my educated guess is Irene (left) and big sister Fran. If so this is about 1920
1920-6
( comments) No info. From Hanson photos, so I guess Irene (left) and baby Howard. Howard was born Jan 1920, so this would be summer 1920.
1920-7
( comments) Again, no info. Dad did not label and nothing on back. Don's educated guess is that this is Irene with her grandparents on her father's side (Anna Marie and PR Hanson) PR died August 1921. Assume summer 1920 (But compare Irene hair with 1922 wedding of Alice) I identify Anna Marie from photo ZLTwo 061 in 1924
1920-8
( comments) Back of unsent postcard "To Agnes, From Lester and Carol 19_20" Allen wrote Carroll and Lester Olson. They are the sons of August Olson (a son of Per and Britta Olson) and Agnes. Thus they are cousins of Irene. Assume 1920 although the notation might mean 1919 or 1920?
1920-9
( comments) No info. I don't recognize house or girl. Put in 1920
1920-10
( comments) Bad picture of A.C. Hanson carved horses. Guess 1920
1920-11
( comments) Dad labeled "At Ljung home on Nokomis St between 7th and 8th - Ida L. - 3 of Gust Sherlin kids and Al sitting on post" The girls are cousins of Dad. See also ZL4 118 for family photo. Assume summer 1920
1920-12
( comments) Dad and I drove around Alexandria July 5, 2010 to photograph places with family history. 708 Nokomis Albin and Ida had home that was probably where 708 building is now. Al thinks the house was moved to an unknown place in town. 1920
1920-13
( comments) Nokomis between 7th and 8th. Jack Bailey house (see also next photo) 1920
1920-14
( comments) Corner of Nokomis and 8th (car on Nokomis) This new building is on the site where Albin and Jack Bailey (house next door) built 3 wooden boats. This new building was once the Bellanca wing factory. 1920
1920-15
( comments) Dad Labeled "Laverne Nelson" She is not in family tree. Assume 1920.
1920-16
( comments) Dad labeled "Edwin Nelson with Laverne" Neither are in family tree. Assume 1920
1920-17
( comments) scanned by John M 10/23/16 John says Lois Scherlin, but Don thinks he meant Louis Schelin. (Although person on left might be a boy?) Louis was born Dec 1915 and later married Floyd Bolin. Allen is on right. Looks like 1920.
1920-18
( comments) Dad labeled "Fritz Severson - Albin L. Emery L. and Gust Erickson" Gust Erickson married Fritz's daughter Christine so he is an uncle of Albin. He also is the father of Mary Anne Erickson. I beleive she was a 5th ?grade teacher at Washington School. Assume 1920
1920-19
( comments) Dad labeled "Lena and Junette Strandberg" Lena Severson Strandberg is Mary Severson's sister and Junette is Lena's daughter. Assume 1920
1920-20
( comments) Writing on back "Ms Jack Bailey" She lived next door. Assume 1920
1920-21
( comments) No info. However, this photo was with photo of Erick's farm (ZL99 388) The person looks like Erick. I believe the houses in the two photos are the same, just from different angles. Assume both photos taken at same time. (note you can see corn field in both) Looks like 1920 when compaared to other photos of Erick.
1920-22
( comments) Dad wrote on back "Erick Ljungs farm along Soo Line tracks S.W. corner of sect 26 Carlos Twp." No date. But taken same time as ZL99 389 so assume 1920.
1920-23
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Location of Eric Ljung's farm (where John lived with him) Dad said house was close to where shed is now. However when compared to old 1920 Dad says that when John moved to town he buried his old gears and iron from his inventions somewhere on this farm! 1920
1920-24
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Erick Ljung's farm. Dad said house was close to where shed is now. However when compared to old 1920 photo I think Eric's house was where new house is. (Look at tree line). 1920
1920-25
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Erick Ljung's farm, 1920
1920-26
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Eric Ljung's farm 1920.
1920-27
( comments) No info. Assume 1920
1920-28
( comments) Dad wrote on back "John Strandberg MPLS" John is a grandson of Jonas Persson. Postcard photo. Guess 1920
1920-29
( comments) No info except the writing "Jellbjorn ?? -26" The back has some printed stripes - a Swedish post card photo? From Erick's album. I am pretty sure this is Johan Lindstrom. He is a brother of Erick and John. Compare with 1914 photo of Erick's Sweden trip. Could 26 mean 1926? I suppose so,but Johan only looks a little older than in 1914. Put in 1920.
1920-30
( comments) See ZL99 317 for what Mom wrote. This is Wilhelmina Johnson and Herman Sherlin. She is Herman's second wife. He is father of Ida First wife died Sept 1916. The photographer could be: Olson, Richard Locations: Address: Alexandria, Minnesota Dates of operation: 1920 Decades Worked in Minnesota: 1920s If so this photo would be 1920. I think it is there wedding photo and so 1920 works.
1920-31
( comments) This is a negative Dad had made probably using ZL99 316. I am keeping it only because the streak in 316 going down the left side of Herman is missing. 1920
1920-32
( comments) Mom wrote on folder of Herman Sherlin photo. Assume 1920
1920-33
( comments) On back of this postcard photo "Crooked Lakers" Looks like a Model 83 Overland built 1915 -1926. Put in 1920
1920-34
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Looking south on Homestead 1920
1920-35
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts I had just turned car around and so this is looking backwards. We are on Homestead Rd between Co Rd 73 and Newman Rd. We will leave going south towards Newman. 1920
1920-36
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Looking East. AC had a small house and barn on this 40 acre field. AC lived there after losing money on Bethany. Max Floding lived there when Don was a kid Put in 1920
1920-37
( comments) Monday Dad and I drove around his old haunts Looking north 1920
