Album: 1919 Al Ljung Album

     Album:Family/Historical photos.:Gramps Allen:1910 Decade:1919 Al Ljung Album
1919-1
( comments) Ida on back wrote "6 mo." Thus this is Allen about the end of March 1919. A cropped version of this photo ZL4 072 has been deleted. Note this baby carriage is not the one that we now have in our guest room.
1919-2
( comments) Dad labeled "Dad Albin and little Al" Assume about April 1919
1919-3
( comments) Allen probably same day as ZL4 060 so about April 1919
1919-4
( comments) Dad labeled "WWI Vets - One is a Carlson" See next photo for back of this photo. No other info. Perhaps Olga Carlson Hanson's first husband? Comparing this photo with a 1915 photo of "Carlson" I can't tell which of these is Carlson. Assume 1919.
1919-5
( comments) Back of WWI Vets photo. Assume 1919
1919-6
( comments) Dad labeled "Soldiers returning home after W.W.I 1918 Port Orchard." My guess is that it is actually spring 1919. The war ended Nov 1918. Note leaves on trees. Assume April 1919.
1919-7
( comments) Ida wrote on back of postcard photo "Albin". Assume 1919
1919-8
( comments) Downtown Port Orchard? About 1919
1919-9
( comments) No info. Could this be a house they lived in in Port Orchard? Is the garden Ida's? Compare to ZL4 066. Window panes don't seem to match. Assume 1919
1919-10
( comments) On photo see "6 1/2 months" Dad labeled this "Allen Lj Albin Lj" Another copy that Ida sent to Olga Carlson, Ida wrote on back "The two Als' Junior 6 1/2 mo." So, Ida called Albin "Al" and Allen "Junior" (Although I don't think the "Junior" label stuck. Thus this photo is mid April 1919 Note the family appears to be living in a different house from one Allen was born in.
1919-11
( comments) Scan of very good original. Dad labeled "Mr & Mrs Albin Ljung and Allen (Ida)" April 1919
1919-12
( comments) Photograph by Don of original photo Dad had. (Original too large to scan) Albin, Ida and Allen in Seattle probably just before they left. About April 1919.
1919-13
( comments) Photograph by Don of original in frame that we have. This is clearly taken from the larger family grouping. I took photo out of frame to eliminate glare and reflections. Allen April 1919.
1919-14
( comments) Photograph by Don of original in frame that we have. This photo includes old original frame. About April 1919
1919-15
( comments) No info. Looks like Allen but woman is unknown. See ZL4 069 photo of Albin taken same day for date. April 1919.
1919-16
( comments) Allen with same woman as previous photo (ZL4 074) Assume April 1919
1919-17
( comments) Clearly Ida, Allen and Albin. Assume April 1919
1919-18
( comments) Ida, Allen, Albin Assume April 1919
1919-19
( comments) Albin. Appears to be same day as ZL4 080. On another (very poor) dublicate of this, Dad wrote on back "Port Orchard Albin Ljung Worked in Bremerton ShipYard during WWI" Since it goes with other photos including Allen, I would date it as April 1919.
1919-20
( comments) Dad labeled "Early 1919 Arriving back home in Alexandria" I am certain the tall woman on right is Ida, with Albin pulling the baby stroller with Allen (The stroller looks like the one we now have in the guest room. It is not the one they had in Washington. In a later photo we see the Washingrton carriage made it to Alex. Maybe someone who met them in Alex had this carriage as a gift) The woman with arm behind Ida is Olga Hanson. Photos ZL4 084 and 085 pretty much confirm these identities. The large man appears not to be Elon Hanson as Elon's coat in the other photos does not have a belt. At any rate this is almost certainly the first photo of the stroller! Assume early May 1919.
1919-21
( comments) 2017 photo of baby carriage used by Allen and Ljungsters. Put in 1919
1919-22
( comments) Dad labeled "After return to Alexandria Ida and Albin and son lived with Erick Ljung for a while on 8th and Irving and then bought a home on Nokomis 1919 - 1920" See label of next photo for people - ?, Albin, Elon Hanson, Olga Hanson (prob Elon's wife) with stroller handle (yes matches the guest room stroller) and Ida. Early May 1919.
1919-23
( comments) Dad labeled "Homecoming! Albin, Ida, Olga Hanson with Allen's stroller, Elon Hanson and ?" Same day as train photo (Albin and Ida clothes and stroller same), Note Albin has gloves so probably early May 1919.
1919-24
( comments) Ida wrote on back "Allen Ljung 9 mo." Hence Albin and Allen about the end of June, 1919. On a copy of this photo that Ida sent to Olga Carlson, Ida wrote "Olga do you notice Al's new hair cut Allen 9 mo." So Ida called Albin "Al". Note the house appears to be the house on Nokomis in Alexandria
1919-25
( comments) No info but clearly Allen and Albin. Same day as ZL3 022 do late June 1919
1919-26
( comments) Allen same day as photo ZL4 065 (Note Albin's shirt) late June 1919
1919-27
( comments) Dad labeled "Ida Ljung aand Baby Allen at home in Port Orchard" Looks like same day as ZL4 065 so late June 1919. If that is true then this photo would be in Alexandria not Port Orchard. I am assuming Alex and Dad's label wrong.
1919-28
( comments) Allen in Alexandria with unknown girl. I feel it is Alexandria because it is clearly summer and Allen's clothes are same as June photos. Note the baby carriage is the one they also had in Washington (not the one I have) This means they had both carriages in Alexandria. Assume July 1919. (Almost looks like July 4 picnics in park)
1919-29
( comments) On back "Marie Peterson" Marie's mother is a sister of Ida. So she is Allen's cousin. About 1919
1919-30
( comments) Dad labeled "Future carpenter" Assume Sept 1919
1919-31
( comments) Dad labeled "At house on Nokomis St next to Jack Bailey's home and machine shop. Dog is Bailey's dog" Next 3 photos same time. Allen, guess October 1919
1919-32
( comments) Allen, Oct 1919
1919-33
( comments) Allen, fall 1919
1919-34
( comments) Allen, Oct 1919
1919-35
( comments) No info except license plate appears to be a 1919 North Dakota plate. I have no idea who lived in ND. From Erick Ljung's album.
